Coronavirus: First Batch Of Medical Equipment For Isolation Centres Arrives Anambra.
The Anambra state government has taken delivery of key medical equipment and supplies that will be used for the three designated COVID19 isolation centers in the state.
Recall, the state had announced Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi and Onitsha General Hospital as major isolation centers with three additional surge centers.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Vincent Okpala who received the supplies on behalf of the state thanked Governor Willie Obiano for supporting the work of the states Action Committee on COVID-19 by making the medical equipment available.
Dr. Okpala observed that the items were in high demand globally as manufacturers are not meeting demand. He said; "it's a challenging time for everybody but we are glad that Anambra state government was able to secure these. Luckily, we do not have a case of COVID-19 in the state at the moment, what we are doing is to prepare and get ready for any eventuality.
Some of the items include; hospital beds and drawers, oxygen concentrators, electric suction, patient monitor, personal protective equipment (PPE) for caregivers including protective masks, hand gloves, and others.
