7 Persons Killed In Benue Communal Clashes
Seven (7) persons have been killed in separate communal clashes involving some rural communities in three Local Government Area of Benue State.
This information was confirmed by the Chairman of Ukum LGA, Tor-Tyokaar Ibellego, who told newsmen that five people were killed in the clash which happened on Wednesday morning in his vicinity.
The chairman made known that there was a rise in insecurity in his LGA and stressed on the tighter security network.
According to him, three other persons were also killed that same day in another rural community known as Jootar.
The Police spokesperson in the state, Catherine Anene, told newsmen that some arrests had been made and that the matter is being investigated.
She added that the crisis was caused by a land tussle among the warring factions.
