Coronavirus: Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Donates 1 Billion USD for COVID-19 Relief
Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey disclosed on Twitter that he was putting nearly a third of his total wealth toward the effort to curb the coronavirus pandemic.
He said on Tuesday that he planned to donate 1 billion US Dollars to relief programs related to the coronavirus.
According to him, the fund will focus on health and education for girls and also on universal basic income effort when the pandemic is over.
His tweet on Tuesday, April 7 read : "Im moving $1B of my Square equity (~28% of my wealth) to #startsmall LLC to fund global COVID-19 relief. After we disarm this pandemic, the focus will shift to girls health and education, and UBI."
Dorsey now joins a growing list of celebrities, world leaders and business tycoons who are giving out some their wealth to fight the spread of the coronavirus.
